This is an excellent academic primer that demonstrates Open Democracy is feasible, tried, and worth implementing more widely. It demolishes and unpacks the limited, limiting and hackneyed notion that most democratic forms of government are the 'worst form except for all other forms tried'. Open democracy goes further (and arguably more authentically 'back' - in particular pointing to strengths of sortition, or selection of citizens by lot for deliberative platforms, which Aristotle advocated).
